Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Gadsden City Schools to provide appropriate curricula, programs, personnel, instructional strategies and facilities as well as social, emotional and physical conditions to the extent that all regular, special education and accelerated students may reach their educational potential and experience success in their chosen profession and/or occupations in a global, multi-cultural society.

Goal of Prekindergarten

The goal of Gadsden City Schools Prekindergarten program is to provide every child with a high-quality pre-k program that lays the foundation for school readiness. In our pre-kindergarten classrooms school readiness is fostered through opportunities that promote child exploration, sociability, curiosity, creativity, decision-making, independence, and responsibility, in combination with partnerships among families, teachers, and our community. Children completing our program will enter school with an enthusiasm for learning, an ability to function in a social setting, age-appropriate communication and problem solving skills, age-appropriate physical and emotional skills, and optimal health. It is important that we meet our goal with all of our pre-kindergarteners because we feel that a child who is ready to learn when entering our schools will be able to obtain benefits from learning experiences offered by our schools and will encounter fewer obstacles to learning.
